Our many tender and rare plants thrive in this mild, sheltered climate, and allows for a wide variety of planting. This provides continuous interest from March through to October with its beautiful autumn colours. There are collections from both the Northern & Southern Hemisphere.While the east end of the garden is a naturally shaded area with Acers, Rhododendrons,Hostas, Primulas, Tree Ferns and Terrestial Ferns, the sheltered sunny bank between the Fernery and the Sorbus Grove is home to plants from the Southern Hemisphere. The west end has a Mediterranean Garden with Palms, Bananas, Cycas, Agaves, Yuccas, Xanthorhoea, Restios, Puyas, Cannas and other exotica.
