Clonakilty, County Cork, Ireland![]() A country garden in 40 acres of a lovely wooded valley, providing a natural habitat for wildlife. There are many lovely views across the lake, where picnic tables are available for those wishing to stay and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the valley. The gardens include two of the oldest and largest Monteray Pines in Munster and the Champion Holly of Ireland and a shrubbery with Camelias, Roses, Rhododendrons and Azaleas. Ardnavaha was originally The Rectory for the Church at the top of the drive and both house and garden fell into disrepair some years ago. The house is now restored and the gardens are being re-designed and replanted with trees and shrubs. Paths lead to the lake with bridges across the stream, there is a croquet lawn and a fountain. A Coffee Shop/Cafe serves hot drinks and biscuits. There are also 14 holiday apartments, stables, horses and a small herd of Angus cattle, Gloucester 'Old Spots' and Pea-fowl and Guinea Fowl. Ardnavaha is also a wonderful venue for Weddings with the croquet lawn providing a perfect setting for a Marquee. ![]() CHARITY DAY: We are having a charity day for Cork Simon on Sunday 14th June.
